Perhaps it's your bias that is preventing you from considering the basis of my rant. What is naïve about my objectives? My experience is if you try to do something 2x better than anyone else and do other things too (cheaper too) than the probability of failure ratchets up considerably. It is the Musk "fanboys" who are naïve to me. That's what gets me riled up. You want my science? Do you look at theirs?

It's naïve to believe your business will succeed if it's based on yet ANOTHER gamble that you can build a rocket vastly more powerful and cheaper than any before it. Apple, Microsoft, Google and Amazon have all done the math. They have plenty of money. Are THEY naïve?

As for hate. I clearly state at the end of the story that I hope I'm wrong. I want Starship to succeed. Who wouldn't! (who loves this stuff like I do). As for Elon Musk. I don't hate him. I don't believe in throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Hyperloop is when I believed Musk turned from doing good to wasting a lot of human capital.

My favorite saying, "All the problems of space brought back down to Earth".
