I can’t draw (yet). However, I can cut-n-paste and download public domain graphics. Is there software that would allow me to get my ideas across, if crudely? After some experimentation I settled on Comic Life 3. With a 30 day trial I had so much fun I felt compelled to pay the registration fee within a week.

Comic Life was probably developed 10+ years ago. It’s clunky, idiosyncratic. Nonetheless, though I have Photoshop and Illustrator CC, Comic Life gets me there faster.

Now, when I want a featured story graphic for Medium, Comic Life make that easy.

So if you’re looking for another tool to enhance your Medium stories with visual comics, give it a try. If you find something better. Let me know!

Here’s my first comic.

The drawing is by van Gogh, so obviously public domain.

In my next, I wanted to make a bunch of points, but make them stand out visually.

I look at that, whatever-it-is, and wonder, ‘What was I thinking? It makes no sense.’ Did I mentioned how much fun I was having!

Next, I get back to KISS.

My most popular, I believe, is this one.

I learned how to make text without a box here:

I post my comics for friends on Facebook and at MaxCantHelpIt.
