Putin built a bridge to Crimea to move tanks which are bringing blight to all that surrounds it. Russia's wealth over Ukraine is in the past. Russia can't afford to pay its own soldiers, forget about pensions in Crimea going forward (which will be near worthless once the Ruble correctly prices to market). The sanctions are crushing Russia but one has to understand economics to see through all the propaganda. I can't see Putin lasting more than a year or two. I can only hope that a new government takes over which doesn't govern from the stone age.

I don't know how much Ukraine will benefit. So you might be right. But I do know Putin's regime is done. Whether Russia can rise from the ashes remains to be seen. The World is moving on. In a few years Russian oil/gas will be paying reparations and the pensioners living like those in Venezuela. The West won't be doing well either, most likely. But relatively speaking?
