Putin has become as naive as a child. The sanctions are economic seige warfare. The ordinary people are not going to talk their governments into making peace with Russia. Instead, the the U.S., Britain and EU will eventually attack Russia if it does not surrender from the seige. Again, Putin believes that woiuld never happen. He still believes the EU is bluffing. When Europeans start freezing in the winter their anger will easily be directed away from their own governments towards Russia.
