Yes, Israel doesn't sit on natural resources, but it manages or processes them for others.
Putin is burning through very poor people living in the Russian Federation--not those from the big cities. Tragic, but I don't believe life in St Petersburg or Moscow will change.
Netanyahu, on the other hand, is burning through a citizen army built on decades of public trust. And when an elite Gadi Eizenkot loses his kid his eyes are opened.
Trust lost, will not be regained. As you know, I do not see Israel recovering from that. The Haredi won't fight (except Zionist flavor) and any Israeli with half a brain will realize it's safer to use his/her "natural resource" in the U.S. or Europe.
What will remain in Israel? With such a large portion of Israelis with Russian heritage, perhaps what they tried to do long ago--a satellite of Russia. A managerial class of Russian natural resources management.
Hope you're well!
