Climate change can be handled in two ways. 1. The wealthy cut down consumption to reduce carbon (while also helping poorer people/nations cope with the global depression). 2. Wait for it to come and, if it does, figure it out how to live with it then (which will mean the wealthy will mostly survive and billions perish).

Does it matter what climate scientists say? It's not their psychology that makes a difference in the end, is it?

Reading your article I thought about the Covid Vaccine. The studied are years away, but I predict they will say it had a limited effect. The weakening of the virus, not the vaccine, reduced fatalities. Same for masks, mostly useless. Anyway, to me it's Exhibit A in why all the problems you so-well covered in your piece will persist.

Humanity simply can't get ahead of these kinds of issues. It will be worked out through war and huge populations drops if history is any guide.

The scientists need to figure out how to survive themselves. I wish I was joking.
