Russia is not the problem. It’s Putin and his group of sycophants. Beneath them, however, are powerful feudal interests, which are present in every country. To keep them from open warfare the government needs to get them back to making money. The U.S. made that mistake in Iraq, by disbanding the Iraqi military. If the government disintegrates democracy might not naturally spring up. Anyway, that’s why I want the Russian government to keep on functioning.
