Sorry, I don't see Gaza as effectively it's own country. Israel leaving it doesn't make it so. A nation is not defined by the absence of a foreign power. Israel allowing it to build airports and ports and connect to the outside world does.

Yes, I would have preferred that Israel give citizenship to all within its borders. With Gaza, either make one or the other hard decision. Citizenship or Sovereignty.

Don't get me wrong. No one is a saint, including Palestinians. I expect Israel to be smart. It's become short-sighted and exceptionally stupid. It has failed in its "Palestinian" problem and instead of making hard and difficult analysis, keeping treating it like a nail because it has hammers.

The wealthy Jews of Israel will do fine. The rest will find themselves on the level of the Palestinians. I wonder if deep down they know that and they support the war not because they think it will work, because it vents their frustrations.
