That’s a great story! So insightful. But the other stuff you write about money I feel is just re-hashing of a phoney narrative that the rich are keeping old people in crackers and sardines. I see you’re trying to break out of it.
Forget everything you think you know about money and start from the very beginning. How do things really work? Why would a person be different than a gerbil? That is, why would they prevent others from getting to a resource (like water)? Are we slaves to a few people, or to others just like us?
To me, things are fairly simple. We’re always in 3 modes like a gerbil. Bored (happy?), Greedy or Fearful.
If you have time I believe you’d find Graeber’s “5,000 Years of Debt” very interesting. He too believe we live in a society based on slavery. He looks at people as gerbils too, in a sense; rather, the anthropology of it.
Anyway, I’d love to read a story about how you think we’re different from gerbils, in your experience!
