That's what Muslims would say in Israel and many parts of the world. A 71-year-old American recently killed a 6-year old boy because he's a Muslim. Hate is hate. Antisemitism doesn't have special status.
When I was young no one said antisemitism out loud. It was tacitly agreed by reform Jews and their host nation that if Jewish people assimilated there wouldn't be persecution. And there wasn't that I could see.
When you use that word you are separating yourself from others. That's fine. Just watch what you wish for. You should also notice that Muslim in America do NOT overly complain about anti-Muslim groups. Like the Jews post WWII, they don't take for granted where they live.
What other people have the Jews helped? These are questions non-Jews wonder when they're asked to defend Jewish people against antisemitism. What antisemitism, they wonder.
Those attackers are just one of many types nutjobs we have to deal with. America has a violence problem first. What makes Jews more special than everyone else? An event that happened 80 years ago?
