The U.S. doesn't care about anyone in the Middle East. It has no definable policy, far as I can tell. What the U.S. does have is the weapons to protect oil/gas "interests", which is more than who gets it to burn. Just like pre WWII.

Ultimately, it is the West that is killing children in Gaza. My argument is that Israel will be the ultimate sucker because it didn't stick to its values--like, to not kill children of its neighbors or destroy their homes.

The U.S. will leave and Israel might experience the very thing it has always worried about--destruction by its neighbors. I feel this is self-inflicted. Israel has missed too many opportunities to find a way to get Iran out of Gaza. It has hid behind the ultimate bully.

It brings me no joy it has come to this for anyone in the area.
