The U.S. pulling out of the Middle East since the last Iraq war is one of my little rants ;) The U.S. has lost so much interest, that when the Iraqis put up a memorial to Suleimani at the Baghdad airport he was killed at (talk about U.S hypocrisy of International norms) the U.S. just shrugged--whatever.

Asia buys all the oil of the Middle East. If the Europeans don't want to help managing the area why should the U.S. go it alone? It won't, like you say. Israel just accelerated the withdrawal even more.
