I'm not looking for Biden to stop Israel from bombing Gaza. Agree, not sure he can. I'm looking for Biden to take a firm stand as the President of the United States, defending human rights that Israel is committing crimes against humanity . Bernie Sanders and few others have said exactly that. And Sanders is Jewish.
Biden's approval ratings has nothing to do with it, for me. Isn't it the height of cynicism for one to argue ratings, or Congress/Senate, is why he shouldn't make a clear statement against the bombing? This is the one area I have no sense of humor about, when it comes to the President. Our nation has 4,000+ nukes and 800 bases around the world.
Anyway, Biden hugs Netanyahu at the airport and that was completely inappropriate seeing the course Israel was on with Gaza. He calls him "Bibi". WTF! Do that in private. He also spoke out against the ICC when he should have kept his mouth shut on the issue.
I watched Trump's speech on Jan 6th. I didn't see him incite a revolt. Have you watched it? Trump says fifty stupid things a day. That doesn't mean they happen. I don't see him imprisoning people he doesn't like. It's all theater with him.
If the government wants to build manufacturing it has to give tax breaks to the rich. Otherwise, it goes the way of State Own enterprises like the CCP in China, or the old Soviet Union.
Anyway, why don't the Democrats ever try to repeal those tax breaks? As I said, they all serve big money. The Republics do the tax breaks for the wealthy individuals. The Democrats do the pork Infrastructure projects for corporations.
The pharma industry killed 100,000 plus. Where were the Democrats? I bet it's a big reason MAGA types believe the Democrats don't really care about middle America. Then there are the tax breaks for EVs, which are toys for the wealthy. Where are the Democrats trying to give tax breaks to poor people's cars? The President can't bring down the cost of pharma without Congressional and Senate supports. Biden doesn't reach across the aisle in public. I wrote about that here.
Biden is the kind of country-club asshole you'd despise with a passion in real life. He had tragedy in life? So did many people. Decent people don't make it political. He'd smile at you, pinch your ass twenty years ago. He and Trump were the same assholes when they were young.
There is no good option for me. Again, I can't vote for someone who pretended we didn't have a hand bombing the homes of a million people and killed tens of thousands because they're guilty by association.
My vote for no one is a vote against our current government and both parties.
