This is the Richard I know and love! If China hasn't already tried to fix the environment by damming every stream, no matter how small, I might been able to argue back.

You point out one of the biggest problems with China which I don't believe people appreciate enough. Facing no political challenge, they implement large scale solutions with great risks of unintended consequences--like the dams, the zero Covid policy, the anti-world Nationalism, the over building, etc., etc.

I believe one day there will be an earthquake and the 3 gorges will break apart. Or I can wait until they do what you say possible.
