I develop in both VBA and Python. My observation is it is young Python developers who would do well to add Excel VBA to their toolkit.

If one is going to compare Python to Excel they need to compare apples to apples; that is, language/libraries to the same, which would be Python to VBA. Excel is also a UI. Formulas aren't a language, they're FORMULAS, relationships between data.

If you add VBA to your skillset it "will make you a faster and more powerful analyst in the long run." Also, you'll come back and correct some very dated claims you made. For example, Excel has had data tables for some time. You don't need to use column letters.
