Totally loved reading your erudite take on things. My father was a shmuck (didn't pay a dime for college, etc), but he was always supportive and my best friend, even if we'd go months not talking because I couldn't take his...whatever. I miss him greatly, which I didn't believe I would. When he wanted to pursue art, early 1950s, his father called him a fagot. So I'm not blind to what you say about Hasidic Jews but chose to focus on the more, um, generous aspect.
I try to write in the space between total drunk-ass bullshit and the historian / social scientists / economic data perspective.
Normally, I love to gush about the Jewish culture, as I know it. All the things you mentioned. But this Gaza thing has me unhinged.
Again, loved reading your comment, feel honored. You should post as a story!
