"Utter nonsense"? We're talking economics, not physics. Ukraine has many smart young people, universities and many who will move there after the war to become part of a growing economy and democracy. It has new gas/oil reserves it can exploit for energy independence (it already has farming) It doesn't need IMF or world bank credits. Ukraine just needs customers which it will get. China has been struggling since 2018 IMO. Anyway, economic success isn't a zero-sum game. You seem to view Ukraine as just another Russia. Is it? It's you who has the delusion that Russia is better than Ukraine, or Ukraine can't do something just because Russia couldn't do it. Ukraine is no Afghanistan, Lybia or Somalia, or Iraq. None of them build rocket engines or anti-ship missiles or the largest cargo aircraft in the world.etc. You seem to have a grudge against Ukraine.

You may be right. I don't know the future. It was Putin who was delusional that he could control Ukraine. I may have different delusions. So be it. My money is on the young of Ukraine, their future.
