We are all different, right? We all see things differently. I read people on Medium to learn how they see things. People read me to see how I see them. I'd rather get a comment that shows interest in what I say (one way or the other), than no comment at all.

Why do you feel I shut her down? Why will some not think that but see it as I see it (not arguing that's right!). I said it was an "odd argument" as in not a strong or logical argument for her to be happy. I wrote it so she could easily dismiss it.

I've been writing about and supporting Ukraine since the beginning. Not all my pieces are rah-rah Ukraine. But they all seek to find a way to end the war--I hope.

This will probably come across harsh to you, but I believe the author will understand. Her feelings aren't my first concern. My first concern is getting people to understand the atrocities that are occurring there, how our governments and media don't take it seriously--how most people don't understand (in my view) what is going on.

If she doesn't understand, then I just have to deal with feeling shitty because of what you say about me.

Putin must be stopped. We need all the support we get. In a sense, that was the point of my piece. Making the author feel good won't prevent her from getting raped and killed, would it? I need my country to do more.

In other words, do you really get it? She isn't living in Scarsdale, U.S.A., writing about her feelings. There is a terrorist government trying to kill her, and her family and friends. Of course, that makes her sensitive to people who seem like they don't care. I get it. I'd be the same. Everyone has their cross to bear.
