Well, Israeli already did this, dropped a tech line around Gaza and sent everyone home but some women with good eyesight (who somehow couldn't be trusted later on).
Why didn't the tech work around Gaza? I chalk it up to the aphorism, "the jailed thinks more of the key on the wall than the jailor.
Israel cannot power-project into the Red Sea or Straight of Hormuz. Actually, it can't power project anywhere, not even a hundred miles into Lebanon which has already been proved (and that was before Hezbollah acquired sophisticated anti-tank missiles).
Israel needs to stop living in a fantasy world that the IDF is invincible and it's technology can do much but hack a person's cell phone.
I know you think I'm anti-Israel. Survival is ultimately based on realism. Netanyahu and his cabinet live in an old-man fantasy world of past victories that see nothing of the hard facts around them.
