Well, we differ on so many views Jack, though I'd love to spend hours or days discussing!

Jake Broe has made a very specific argument, which I have made too. Until we live in a world without geopolitical powers the larger power will prevail in the end. But it takes time. Large powers, expecially ones with some sort of democracy have internal politics to deal with, beaurocracy, etc., etc.

Broe just explains why one shouldn't judge the war by what we know today, by what happened or didn't happen in 2004 or 2014. The West and most Ukrainians want Ukraine's borders back to where they were. Unless something is negotiated in the meantime, as Broe points out, the West will ultimately help Ukraine push Russia out--if the Ukrainian manpower can do it which I believe they can easily do--again we disagree!
