We're left in the dust not because Trump attacks us, but because our own kind is morally bankrupt and corrupt. I don't think Fauci is a bad man. But he's a political animal. He didn't insist that we collect the kind of data needed to assess how well the mRNA vaccines were working or to bring their side effects clearly into focus. He fibbed about masks early on because "we" couldn't be trusted. He didn't stand up for people who were critical of the way the government was handling the pandemic. In short, he was and is an apologist.

Apologies won't fix the U.S. Bernie Sanders was our last beacon of hope. The Democrats are just as authoritarian as the Republicans, they only do it passively. Like forcing Al Franken out. Using AOC and the squad when it suits them, suppressing what they say when it doesn't.

If Trump's tax breaks are so bad, why no effort to roll them back? Why no progress on immigration. Why the pandering to one group of students with debt relief? Why no clear goal with Ukraine? Why no explanation for our weapons used to destroy the homes of 1,000,000 people?
