What China has done in the South China Seas doesn’t hold a candle to the U.S.’s 50+ interventions in South America. Anyway, the U.S. had plenty of opportunity to stop China from developing those bases in the SCS. Again, China is only saying it will do with Taiwan what the U.S. agreed it would allow it to do decades ago. I’m not taking sides, only pushing back that sides can objectively be taken.
I’d be happy to see U.S. LNG sales to Europe too. The only problem is the West has lived under a huge hypocritical delusion that a few Teslas are going to save the planet from global warming, or that windmills can keep people from freezing. Russia bet that the science isn’t there yet and they, so far, have bet right.
Russia is a one-trick pony. Allow them their day in the sun. I don’t see how a war in Ukraine is going to help anyone. In the end, Germany isn’t going to let his population freeze to death in the winter. In short, the West needs to take more responsibility for putting too much money and confidence in green energy…dare I say, frauds? It will take time. And in the meantime LNG is the best alternative. So let’s all just get along!
