What I find interesting is many people don't read the Constitution for what it is (I believe). A pissy letter from a rejected lover, the English colonists (England's answer: no, we're not going to marry you and give you seats in our Parliament).

If England had given into the colonists requests we'd be English today. Indeed, if it WAS a request for real, non-English independence, England would have crushed the colonies. No one expected the U.S. to become a superpower. So much lost on most people.
