What's interesting to me is Iran didn't need to admit that Haniyeh was killed by Israel. They could have said natural death. Or delayed the news. Do we know for sure that Shukr was killed? The last time Iran complained through back channels that Israel was going too far the U.S. allowed Iran a penalty click (as I wrote about).

Wild speculation, but I believe relations with Iran have improved since Biden took office. Not great, but not bad either. Russia is more important than Hamas/Hezbollah. So the U.S. will look to keep Iran out of it.

True, there are Christian Nationalists in the U.S. who support Israel, but they won't vote people in on that alone. Inviting Netanyahu was a great piece of political theater by the Republicans to embarrass the Democrats, but that doesn't mean the Republicans want to fight Israel's war. They too, will be more focused on Russia.

The real fight is between the U.S./Eu against Russia/China.

Israel is just a complete PITA. So I believe the U.S. will do something to cut Israel down to size soon. They are only a headache for U.S. interests. The U.S. has bigger fish to fry.

Israel is deluded into believing the U.S. will defend it in a war against Iran. But maybe I'm deluded ;)
