Why Didn’t Anthropic Use Claude To Fact-Check Chloe’s Speech?
Anthropic’s Chloe Lubinski recently gave a talk about AI at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC), which you can watch here on YouTube. You might disagree, but I found many problems with her speech. Technical problems, political problems, framing problems. But what truly blew my mind: nobody at Anthropic seemed to have ran her script through Claude before she delivered it.
I know this because I did it myself. I pay $23 a month for Claude. She presumably gets it free, on top of a six-figure salary. And when I fed her speech to Claude — without telling it who wrote it or where it came from — Anthropic’s own AI politely dismantled it, paragraph by paragraph.
If you believe in a Kafkaesque, absurdist universe, this is just another Tuesday. But let’s walk through it anyway.
First, about Chloe
Let me be clear up front: nothing here is meant as a personal attack. She has a BA from Berkeley in 2013, a master’s in philosophy and theology about a decade later. Her LinkedIn oage mentions helping lead Ignatian retreats for young adults “focused on exploring the imagination through art.” She strikes me as a sincere humanist — someone who genuinely wants people to flourish, who wouldn’t want anyone judged harshly.
