With others, I have been writing about this for years. People don't seem able to act based on idealistic principles. And many want to fight. What are sports but wargames? I believe the reason we've had less world war these past few decades are nukes and the memory of the carnage (for almost everyone, but they're all dead).

Except for Jimmy Carter, I've never been able to vote for a President who had anything close an anti-war attitude. You wrote a very nice piece. I'm depressed I think it so hopeless.
