Yes, but those people, 41 years ago, are either wheeling around in wheelchairs or dead. Hezbollah is not the same, it's more political. The U.S., is in a different place too.

One of the reasons Hezbollah succumbed to the pager attack is it was complacent. More a political organization. It didn't believe it would have to go to war with Israel. It's actually been very restrained. It figured if it kept 60,000 out of Northern Israel it would pressure Israel to leave Gaza. Seems reasonable? Unless you want to look at the world as black and white, all Arabs as evil.

Israel is completely unhinged. You either see it or you don't. Without American made fighters and bombs it would be forced to get along. Instead, it's always ten eyes for my eye. That may have worked 30 years ago but it won't work today, IMO.
