The trick to the publish button is to just press it at the end of the week, month, whatever, no matter what. Generally, I write a story, I should make it better, but don't/can't, who knows. I hit publish. Then I watch the story get 12 views and 1 read and I panic. Somehow, after editing the story some more with that feeling I turn it into 12 views and 6 reads.

You might try this method for a month. If it doesn't work, you can always delete the stories. Also, if you don't tell your family and friends about them, they'll never come find them. Only my sister makes any effort to find my stories. So don't worry about that either.
