Yes, Russia has legitimate reasons to push perceived NATO expansion back through Ukraine. Yes, war atrocities are never completely one-sided. But do we need a "more accurate understanding of what's truly happening in Ukraine".?
What understanding do you believe will justify the amount of death and destruction? I can't think of any and I do try.
Russia invaded a country it promised not to in the Budapest Memorandum. Why didn't you mention that? Russia is going too far. The war is being prosecuted by a cabal of men whose faces have been the same for years. Whatever the Russian public may support or not, I have not seen many who WANTED to invade Ukraine. The war is not the will of the people. I've heard of Russian tanks firing at Russian soldiers to keep them moving forward. I believe it.
Did you see the security around the May 9th event? Everyday Russians weren't allowed with a mile of the place. Putin and his regime know how much the Russian people want this war--zilch.
That's what we need to understand. Putin and his regime and forcing Russians to mow over Ukraine. Yes, the news is falling for all the Nazi bs. But still, in the end, I think everyone sees it for what it is.
Putin won't negotiate. He will keep killing until luck turns his way There's no mechanism in his government for criticism or new thinking. At this point, my understanding is distilled to that.
Very well written story explaining the background! I don't want to take away from that!
