Yes that's exactly what it means which is why Biden's administration can't be trusted. Super-powers aren't warm and fuzzy, least of all Russia. On the other hand, they make it clear where they stand. Putin has always been clear that he will never let Ukraine get absorbed into the West, no matter what the public wants.
The question is, what does the U.S. want? If it's to protect liberal democracy I'd say the point a near teenager was taken off a diverted plane in Belarus was a good time to make a stand. But nothing. The kid and his girlfriend are tortured and rot in jail to this day.
Why is Britain more concerned about Ukraine than Russia's closer neighbors like Germany and France? Indeed, why are there any bilateral conversations between the U.S. and Russia without the others?
In short, I agree with you...Russia BAD...but you need to argue how the U.S.'s approach to this situation isn't selfish on the part of the U.S. LNG industry and defense industry. Or how it really means much to Europe, one way or the other.
Enjoyed your piece. THANKS!
